This article explains how tasks created in Adoptech can be fed through to Jira
How do I set up my Jira integration?
Before you can start to send your Adoptech Tasks into Jira you will need to set up a Jira Integration. This help article explains how to do this.
Creating a Task in Adoptech
- An Action can be created from the following pages in Adoptech:
- Actions and Events
- PESTEL
- Legal Register
- Vendor Register
- Risk register - under Risk Treatment
- Checks - on the RHS menu under Actions
- Select Add new/Action
- In the Creation Action modal
-
- tick 'Create copy in external ticketing system' and select Jira
- Fill in all (mandatory) fields and click Create
- tick 'Create copy in external ticketing system' and select Jira
How is the Task created in Jira?
If you have selected Jira as the external ticketing system, once you click on Create, a ticket is immediately created in Jira.
This will be created with the Reporter and Project used during integration set up.
What fields updates are supported?
The following fields are copied from Adoptech to the Jira ticket:
- Name
- Description
- Deadline
- Status
- If the status of a ticket is set to Completed in Adoptech, it will move to Done in Jira and vice versa
- Any other status used in Jira will remain as Pending in Adoptech.
If any of the supported fields on the Action in Adoptech or the ticket in Jira are updated, they will be reflected in the other system. Changes to other fields are not reflected in the other system.
How can I find the link to the Jira ticket in Adoptech?
Once an Action has been created and copied to Jira, click on the Action in Adoptech and in the top right hand corner the Jira Icon will be displayed.
Click on the Jira icon and this will open the ticket in Jira.
